UNZASU ELECTIONS POSTPONED
By Busiku
The voters who were up and queuing as early as 5 AM on Friday to vote for the new University of Zambia Students Union (UNZASU) leadership, were disappointed after learning that the elections could not continue due to the shortage of ballot papers.
UNZASU Electoral Commission Chairperson Kasanga Ngulube explained that the elections were suspended as safety and security reasons could not allow for continuation of polls.
The elections were then moved to Monday which did not set in well with the UNZA Populace as it raised mixed feelings as some students took to social media to air their anger.
Others used the situation to sell their propaganda, alleging that it was a strategy and opportunity for some losing candidates to steal votes.
Therefore, that affected the Monday polls as students did not turn out in large numbers to vote as compared to Friday.
