Minister of Sports, Emmanuel Mulenga
has advised University of Zambia (UNZA) students to always spare time for physical
exercises to reduce the risk of suffering from non-communicable diseases.
Mulenga encouraged all students to
participate in physical exercises regularly in order for them to keep fit and avoid developing various health
complications that might disturb their academic life in the near future.
“I am here to remind you that it is very
important to exercise every morning due to the increase of non-communicable
diseases that you can easily sweat off so that you can concentrate on your
studies and achieve your objectives,” he said.
He added that he was looking forward to an
upcoming sports competition event among various universities and colleges that
will take place at UNZA in October.
On September 13, 2019, UNZA held its annual sports day at the Goma fields and Sports Hall. Sports disciplines such as soccer and basket ball were among various activities that took place. These were preceded by aerobics which acted as a warm-up to other activities.
